On February 21, guides from Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine and around the world celebrated their professional holiday.
An unusual presentation of Kryvyi Rih guides took place in the library on Poshtova Street. Connoisseurs of Martian landscapes, historical places and majestic locations told about themselves, excursions and the tourism in Kryvyi Rih in the format of a PechaKucha.
For reference: PechaKucha includes presentations intentionally limited in time and form. The speaker presents 20 slides, each lasting 20 seconds. After that, another participant of the event has his or her turn.

On the 9th of February, the mayor of Kryvyi Rih, Kostiantyn Pavlov, set a task to involve its residents, together with the experts from Germany and Poland, in the development of the 4th Zarichny improvement project. "4th Zarichny" will be the first pilot project. The district has one of the most complex infrastructures in the city, with high population density, a large concentration of high-rise buildings in a small space. The model should be worked out in detail to modernize other districts as effectively as possible in future, " the mayor emphasized.
During the survey, we will interview more than four thousand residents of the 4th Zarichnyi. It is a European approach to urban planning - Kryvyi Rih residents themselves will express their own opinion on what and how to do in their neighbourhood. After that, together with the specialists of the city authorities and experts from the EU, they will develop a project for the improvement of the 4th Zarichnyi. The research program passed the expert assessment of the Sociological Association of Ukraine (SAU).

It will be aimed at modernizing health care facilities, improving the comfort for children in educational institutions, improvement of recreation areas.
Mayor Kostiantyn Pavlov emphasized, “In the city budget for 2021, we have fully preserved all social benefits and targeted assistance for veterans, people with disabilities, anti-terrorist operation soldiers, large families and others. At the same time, we continue large-scale work on the development of the city, improving its infrastructure, improving the comfort of the life of citizens. Therefore, after receiving a certain additional resource in February, we will immediately send it to solve urgent problems.”

He set a task to involve in the development of the project, first of all, residents of the district and the experts from the EU as well.
Pavlov noted: “With the support of EU experts, an urban project will be implemented in Kryvyi, and the residents will participate. The community of Zarichny-4 will take part in the development of a project for the development of the district. As when planning urban space in European cities, Kryvyi Rih residents will formulate what and how should be done in their neighbourhood. "Zarichny-4" will be the first pilot project. It has one of the most complex infrastructures in the city, 20 thousand inhabitants, a large concentration of multi-storey buildings in a small space. Therefore, we will test this model for further modernization of other neighbourhoods as effectively as possible.”

Based on the main parameters of the city budget for 2021, it is planned to allocate more than UAH 3.3 billion or 43% of the city budget for the maintenance and development of the education sector.
“The educational sector of Kryvyi Rih has always been, is and will be a priority. We have not only maintained, but also expanded programmes to provide free meals to students. Free meals will be available for pupils in grades 1-4, children from large families who find themselves in a difficult situation, children from student families and children whose parents are involved or have died or gone missing in eastern Ukraine. Besides, all allowances and surcharges for teachers are preserved. Also, we will overhaul educational institutions and purchase new, modern equipment this year,” Mayor Kostiantyn Pavlov said.

UAH 58.8 million is planned to be allocated from the city budget in 2021 for major repairs of dormitories, condominiums and energy efficiency measures in apartment buildings. In this direction, the implementation of the programmes "Warm House", reimbursement of loans and assistance in overhauling condominiums. Also, systematic work on the overhaul of elevators in the housing stock continues. 105 elevators will be overhauled next year.
“Kryvyi Rih remains one of the few cities in Ukraine where assistance is provided in such a complex issue as the overhaul of elevators. It is very expensive to make a new, comfortable and safe elevator and it requires almost a million UAH. Despite privatization of almost every apartment, we understand that people can't afford such repairs at their cost, as well as asphalting near houses. Therefore, we will help. Therefore, we will help. And this is an important help! For example, in a city like Dnipro, 17 elevators were overhauled last year, we will do 105 in just one year,” Mayor Kostiantyn Pavlov said.
